Quality Assurance Manager Job Vacancy
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement QA Systems: Design and implement quality assurance protocols to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, internal quality policies, and customer specifications across the confectionery, dairy, and beverage divisions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with industry regulations and certifications, including HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000. Stay updated with changes in legislation and communicate updates to the relevant stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the quality assurance team to enhance skills and capabilities, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and promote best practices in quality management.
- Product Testing and Auditing: Oversee the quality testing of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure all quality and safety standards are consistently met.
- Supplier Quality Management: Develop and maintain supplier quality assessment programs,including audits, inspections, and continuous supplier improvement initiatives.
- Customer Complaint Management: Address and resolve quality-related customer complaints in a timely manner. Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor key quality metrics, prepare reports for senior management,and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sourcing, logistics, production, engineering & HR to uphold quality standards in existing products/processes & new product development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within the confectionery, dairy, or beverage industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and certifications (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, IFS, BRC).
- Experience in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) Risk Assessment and ensuring workplace safety in quality assurance practices.
- In-depth knowledge of plasticizers and their implications on food safety, particularly in packaging materials and their migration limits.
- Familiarity with MOSH/MOAH analysis and control measures to prevent mineral oil contamination in food products and packaging.

- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a QA team.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using QA tools, data analysis software, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written & spoken communication skills both in English & Sinhala.
