JOB ROLE:

  • Develop on and implement an understanding of all aspects of quality assurance, including the scientific principles, laboratory testing, current processing technologies, and evolving industry standards.
  • Execute comprehensive testing protocols spanning chemical, physicochemical, organoleptic, and microbiological assessments, in line with our strategic quality policy.
  • Lead rigorous inspection and evaluation, across all end-to-end production operations, to ensure strict adherence to quality, environmental, and food safety benchmarks.
  • Oversee and maintain the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) laboratory systems, managing a meticulous log of equipment, chemicals, glassware, and reference samples.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) to analyze consumer feedback and sensory data, driving forward initiatives that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage in detailed competitive analysis to foster innovation and refinement of existing products.
  • Manage all on-site market shifts and consumer feedback.
  • Direct critical problem-solving efforts, identifying root causes of non-conformances, designing effective corrective actions, and implementing their robust implementation.
  • Uphold and advocate for exceptional hygienic practices within the factory and laboratory environments to meet our stringent Company goals.
  • Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing, ensuring comprehensive quality analysis.
  • Lead sustainability efforts by identifying and implementing strategies to minimize waste production both in the laboratory and on the factory floor.
  • Facilitate and enrich staff training programs focused on enhancing expertise in quality assurance and fostering a deeper understanding of the quality concept.
  • Proactively communicate with management regarding any practices that may impact quality, safety, or environmental compliance.
  • Oversee the application and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System, adhering to all SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Any other projects or tasks as requested by the Management.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passionate about Sri Lanka; you're committed to making a positive impact for our Country and its people.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, Bio Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry.
  • Minimum 2-7 years of experience in quality assurance within the food, agro-processing, or beverage industry, preferred. Prior experience of 5 years is relevant for a Senior Executive/Deputy Manager/Manager within a similar field.
  • Diploma/related educational qualification in Quality Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Product Safety.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient in handling relevant QA software tools.
  • Skilled in microbiological analysis and sensory evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet objectives and ensure product quality and safety.
  • Possesses keen eye for detail, capability to collaborate across departments to achieve quality standards.
